House Democratic Leader Tim Greimel is currently serving his first full term in the House of Representatives after being successfully elected in February 2012 and represents the 29th District, which includes the cities of Auburn Hills, Keego Harbor, Orchard Lake Village, Pontiac and Sylvan Lake. He was also elected by his colleagues to be the leader of the House Democratic Caucus in November 2012.
Leader Greimel has spent his life giving a voice and power to people in need. As an attorney, he has worked in the field of labor, employment and civil rights to make sure every worker has the right to find and keep a good job, and protect our hard-working citizens from unfair discrimination by their employers.
He served as a member of the Oakland County Commission from 2007-2012 and negotiated the challenges of cities dealing with fewer resources and fought to provide better public safety for our community in the form of firefighters, EMTs and police officers. Tim also worked diligently to ensure Pontiac and Auburn Hills are promoting a business climate that allows small businesses, the engine of our economy, to grow and thrive.
As a former school board member for seven years and former board president of Rochester School District, Tim understands the best investment Michigan can make to ensure its economic turnaround is preparing our children for the challenges of finding good-paying jobs in a globally competitive marketplace.
Greimel received a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science, a master’s in public policy and a law degree from the University of Michigan.
