Alex Garza, Candidate for State House, District 12
Alex Garza was first elected to the Taylor City Council in 2013. He became the youngest and first minority elected official in the city of Taylor’s history. Alex became involved in his city’s government to ensure that his neighbors had a voice at the table when decisions were being made on their behalf.
After nearly a decade of attacks on education, health care, and working families, Alex knew it was time to step up to the plate and get to work for his community on the state level. We need representatives in our state government that will take the priorities of their district to Lansing and get results. Fighting for access to affordable health care coverage for all, restoring and increasing education funding for our schools, working to lower auto insurance rates, and making road funding a top priority for Michigan once again are all significant to the 12th House district. Garza’s track record of always being open and accessible to his constituents is important to him.
As the next State Representative for the 12th district, Alex will continue to be mindful of the values of his community and he will keep his finger on the pulse on the needs of his constituents every single day that he goes to work for them.
