Melissa Daub, Wayne County Commission, 10th District
Melissa Daub is a lifelong resident of Plymouth-Canton, graduating from Canton High School (at the time Plymouth-Canton High School) in 1998, and later earning a Bachelor of Science Degree from Eastern Michigan University. From a young age, Melissa understood the privilege of growing up in such a well-rounded community with thriving public schools. For this reason, Melissa chose to remain in the Plymouth-Canton area to raise her son, Dominic, so as to afford him with the same opportunities for success that the community provided her.
Professionally, Melissa works as an Accounts Receivable Administrator, a field in which she has worked for more than 17 years. Throughout her career in accounting support services, Melissa has worked with companies of all sizes in auto, medical, and legal industries alike. Through her work, Melissa has gained extensive technical, leadership, and financial skills that will allow her to solve tough problems while making sound financial decisions.
With current trends in government, Melissa has been inspired to run for Wayne County Commissioner to bring accountability and transparency back to county governance. She understands that in times of economic growth it is ever-important to make responsible financial decisions and maintain a forward-thinking mindset. Honored to be the Democratic nominee for District 10 (which encompasses Plymouth and Canton), Melissa is excited at the prospect of further giving back to the community she loves by serving as its next Wayne County Commissioner.
